Military Member's Entitlement to Dependents' Travel, Dislocation Allowances, and Household Goods Transportation

An advance decision was requested concerning a Navy member's entitlement to dependents' travel allowance and dislocation allowance. The member, whose permanent station was changed in July 1971 and who was then reassigned in February 1972, moved his dependents and relocated his household in November 1973 to a location 36 miles from his former residence. The move was not necessary as a direct result of the permanent change of station and, therefore, the member was not entitled to the allowances or to transportation of household goods at Government expense.
