FMBO provides a full range of financial and business operations services that support GAO mission teams and offices. These operations include:
- Maintaining GAO accounting operations and Treasury reporting systems;
- Leading GAO’s annual budget and appropriations process;
- Developing policies and guidance related to financial management activities, budget planning, and procurements;
- Contracting to procure goods and services to support GAO operations;
- Administering the agency's travel system and travel policies; and
- Guiding assessments of the efficiency and effectiveness of GAO's internal controls.
