Highlights

An Air Force employee requested reconsideration of her denied claims for real estate sales expenses incident to her transfer. GAO had held that the employee was not entitled to reimbursement of real estate sales expenses, since there was: (1) contradictory evidence of her actual residence at the time of her transfer notification; and (2) substantial doubt about the validity of the claim. In her request for reconsideration, the employee contended that she and her husband lived in the residence claimed at the time of her notification. GAO held that the: (1) employee's actual residence could not be determined due to the employee's inconsistent statements; and (2) employee was not entitled to reimbursement of real estate sales expenses. Accordingly, the decision was affirmed.
