Johana Ayers

Johana R. Ayers is the Managing Director of the Forensic Audits and Investigative Service team. The team provides Congress with high-quality forensic audits and investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse; other special investigations; and security and vulnerability assessments. To help federal program managers better manage fraud risk, FAIS led the development of A Framework for Managing Fraud Risks in Federal Programs. The team also handles fraud, waste, and abuse tips received through GAO’s fraud hotline.

Johana joined GAO in August 1998.

Johana earned a master’s degree in International Affairs from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from American University.
