Hilary Benedict is a Director in GAO’s Science, Technology Assessment, and Analytics team. She oversees work on federal agencies’ management of research and development efforts; crosscutting research and development issues, such as workforce challenges; and federal efforts to support U.S. competitiveness in the global innovation economy.
Hilary joined GAO in June 2002. She has worked on a wide range of issues, including acquisition and management issues at the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration, workforce and management issues at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and military infrastructure and privatization issues.
Hilary earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Hilary earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science from Cornell College (Iowa).
She works in GAO’s Denver Field Office.
