Elizabeth H. Curda is a Director in GAO’s Education, Workforce, and Income Security team. She oversees a portfolio of performance audits of federal disability programs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Administration, and the Railroad Retirement Board, among other agencies. Her portfolio also addresses the role federal agencies and programs play in ensuring all areas of public life are accessible for individuals with disabilities, consistent with federal law.

Elizabeth joined GAO in January 1992. Elizabeth has conducted and led audits and advised agency officials on a wide range of federal performance and budget issues, including the use of strategic planning and other leading performance management techniques to achieve results. She became a director in her current team in April 2017.

Elizabeth earned a master’s degree in public affairs from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Smith College.
