Diana Moldafsky

Diana L. Moldafsky is an Acting Director in GAO’s Defense Capabilities and Management team. She oversees work involving DOD’s military operations and programs to support deployed combat forces. Key projects under her leadership include reviews of DOD’s capabilities and application of special operations forces; training of U.S. forces for the full spectrum of operations; and prepositioned equipment and support capabilities.

Diana joined GAO in 2002 and has worked on numerous reviews of DOD’s weapon systems acquisition programs. From 2010-2024, Diana led GAO’s reviews of Navy shipbuilding programs, including the Columbia-class submarine, Ford-class aircraft carrier, and Littoral Combat Ships.

Diana earned a master’s degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and bachelor’s degrees in history and international relations from San Francisco State University.
