Danielle T. Giese is an Acting Director in GAO’s Physical Infrastructure team. She oversees performance audits in the areas of aviation industry trends, aviation workforce issues, and airline consumer protection.

Danielle joined GAO in June 2001 and has led reviews on federal efforts to ensure the economic well-being of workers and families. She now leads work on the response to 2024 Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization, including ways to improve the flow of air cargo, enhance airline customer service and working conditions, and understand emerging aviation technology.

Danielle earned a master’s degree in public affairs, concentrating in social welfare policy, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Danielle earned a bachelor’s degree in Africana studies and political science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
