Year 2000 Computing Crisis: Readiness Improving But Much Work Remains to Ensure Delivery of Critical Services

Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO discussed the year 2000 risks facing the nation, focusing on: (1) the federal government's progress and remaining challenges in correcting its systems; (2) state and local government year 2000 issues; and (3) an overview of the available information on the readiness of key public infrastructure and economic sectors.
