GAO reviewed the proposed rescissions and revised deferral of budget authority contained in the President's second and third special impoundment messages for fiscal year 1997.

GAO noted that the proposed rescissions and revised deferral were in accordance with the Impoundment Control Act. GAO also provided specific information with regard to the proposed rescissions and the deferral.
