Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO: (1) assessed how possible competition with U.S. agricultural exports has affected U.S. policy in assisting the production of alternative crops to coca in Bolivia and Peru; and (2) examined the possible impact of alternative crops on U.S. agricultural trade.
