GAO reviewed the Securities and Exchange Commission's (Commission) new rule implementing the amendments to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. GAO found that (1) the final rule and rule amendments are adopted under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 to implement provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act; and (2) the Commission complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
