Meeting the Fiscal and Management Challenges Facing Government

This is a Comptroller General presentation given to the JFMIP 2011 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 9, 2011. Major topics of this presentation include debt held by the public under two fiscal policy simulations, state and local operating balance measure, addressing weaknesses in major management functions, the need for reliable cost information, and sustained leadership commitement and accountability for results.
