GAO-09-972R: Aug 12, 2009
- Full Report:
GAO reviewed the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) new rule on Part 1231 Pilot Age Limit. GAO found that (1) the final rule amends certain regulations to conform with the "Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act" by raising the upper age limit for pilots serving in domestic, flag, and supplemental operations from age 60 to age 65; and (2) the FAA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
