Department of Veterans Affairs: Traumatic Injury Protection Rider to Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance
GAO-06-345R: Jan 18, 2006
- Full Report:
GAO reviewed the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) new rule on a traumatic injury protection rider to servicemembers' group life insurance. GAO found that (1) the interim rule establishes an automatic traumatic injury protection rider provision to Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance providing automatic insurance for any insured who sustains a serious traumatic injury and also specifies the losses for which the traumatic injury benefit will be paid and the amount of the benefit payable for each loss; and (2) VA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
