The GAO Task Force on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in the Workplace presented GAO managers' guidelines for dealing with situations where employees have, or are perceived to have, AIDS, including: (1) confidentiality regarding employees' health conditions; (2) employee assistance; (3) effects of illness on employee behavior; (4) continued employment and job discrimination; (5) contagion and co-workers' concerns; (6) employee benefits; and (7) testing.
