Legislative Developments

This article, which appeared in the GAO Review, Vol. 21, Issue 1, Winter 1986, discusses legislative developments as they relate to the functions, duties, and responsibilities of GAO. The GAO Law Library compiles legislative histories on all laws that Congress enacts. Each history contains all versions of the bill, remarks and floor debates from the Congressional Record, committee reports, hearing transcripts, and GAO comments on the legislation.
