Legislative Developments

This article, which appeared in the GAO Review, Vol. 17, Issue 3, Summer 1982, discusses legislative developments, including a congressional request for a GAO report on the implementation of the Agriculture and Food Act. It also discusses legislative proposals regarding hospice care, paperwork reduction, and the establishment of a Commission on More Effective Government. A brief analysis is made of the Defense Industrial Base Revitalization Act and of an amendment to the International Security and Developmental Cooperation Act which establishes the Peace Corps as an independent agency.
