Trends in Federal Regulation of the Energy Industry

Trends in U.S. energy industry regulation are reviewed. According to the article, which appeared in the GAO Review, Vol. 17, Issue 1, Winter 1982, federal involvement in energy regulation has increased dramatically since 1973, but Congress, the Administration, the States, and industry are all currently reexamining the multitude of regulatory requirements with an emphasis on deregulation.
