Report on Power Activities, United States Section, International Boundary and Water Commission, United States and Mexico, Department of State, Fiscal Years 1958-1960
Highlights
The General Accounting Office has made a review of the power activities of the United States Section, International Boundary and Water Commission, United States and Mexico, for the fiscal years ended 30 June, 1958, 1959, and 1960. This review was made pursuant to the Budget and Accounting Act, 1921 (31 U.S.C. 53), and the Accounting and Auditing Act of 1950 (31 U.S.C. 67). Our audit was directed primarily toward an evaluation of its power activities, construction practices, and the rental and electricity charges for its Falcon Village residences. We examined financial transactions to the extent deemed appropriate in view of the nature and volume of the transactions and the effectiveness of internal controls. The audit was conducted principally at the United States Section's El Paso, Texas, headquarters office, but we observed operations at other selected sites.
