We expect our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines to be combat ready. But sleep deprivation and fatigue can dramatically reduce readiness, and fatigue has been connected to accidents that have resulted in deaths, as well as hundreds of millions of dollars in damage to ships, aircraft and other military equipment. We ask GAO's Diana Maurer about how widespread this problem is and what the military is doing about it.
