Nancy R. Kingsbury

Nancy Kingsbury is the Managing Director of the Applied Research and Methods team. The team is made up of professionals with expertise in designing and executing appropriate analytic methodologies that help GAO's engagement teams and reports improve government operations as well as GAO's own internal business processes. Nancy oversees ARM's technical and methodological direction and works with other team Managing Directors and GAO's executive committee to achieve GAO's strategic goals.

After serving in a variety of positions in the executive branch at the Department of Commerce, the Office of Personnel Management, and the Peace Corps, Nancy joined GAO's Senior Executive Service in September 1984. She held many positions overseeing GAO's work in defense and international issues and government management and operations before creating the Applied Research and Methods team in 2000.

Nancy earned a Master's degree and Ph.D. in experimental psychology and analytic methods from The Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Miami (FL).
